Sunshine Eye & Retina Shines Bright with Energy and Innovation in Miami Debut
Thorofare, NJ "The inaugural Sunshine Eye & Retina Meeting welcomed more than 700 participants to Miami Beach, including 300 comprehensive ophthalmologists and retina specialists bringing together renowned faculty members and industry partners from 36 U.S. states and 12 countries.
Sunshine Eye & Retina 2026 also featured 65 exhibitors showcasing the latest advances in ophthalmology, including 18 Retina Row companies, along with 37 sponsorships, 10 supporters and 13 participants in the Industry Innovations Summit. The partnership of industry collaborators were instrumental in bringing Sunshine Eye & Retina to life, enabling dynamic educational programming, cutting-edge industry showcases and meaningful opportunities for connection across the ophthalmic community.
"The enthusiasm and engagement at our first Sunshine Eye & Retina meeting were outstanding," said Richard L. Lindstrom, MD, Comprehensive Program Director. "Our goal was to deliver a highly focused, collaborative experience that bridged clinical insight and industry innovation, and it was rewarding to see that vision resonate so strongly with attendees and faculty."
Sunshine Eye & Retina 2026 was intentionally designed with a half-day schedule, allowing for focused, high-impact CME education alongside meaningful opportunities to connect. Attendees engaged in dynamic sessions, breakfast and lunch seminars supported by industry partners, and networking experiences such as the welcome reception and interactive Palm Tree Sessions-blending clinical insight with a relaxed, Miami-inspired setting. Attendees will also receive one year of complimentary access to Sunshine Eye & Retina 365, an on-demand platform to revisit sessions and continue learning beyond the meeting.

"The meeting brought together leading experts in a format that encouraged both meaningful discussion and connection," said Rishi P. Singh, MD, FASRS, Retina Program Director. "It's clear there is strong demand for this kind of experience within the retina community."
Sunshine Eye & Retina will return March 11-14, 2027, at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, with plans to expand programming and build on the success of its inaugural year.
"We're incredibly grateful to our attendees, faculty and industry partners for making our first year such a glowing success, added Robert Esgro COO, Healio LIVE (meeting organizer). "We look forward to returning even bigger and better next year."
