Target Audience: General Sessions

The intended audience for this activity is retina specialists and other health care professionals involved in the management of patients with retinal disease.

Learning Objectives: General Sessions

Upon successful completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Assess advances in vitreoretinal surgery.
  • Examine case presentations specific to the surgical management of retinal diseases and conditions.
  • Evaluate practice patterns for diabetic eye disease including the use of current and emerging medical therapies, imaging techniques, and related clinical trials.
  • Explore issues in managing exudative age-related macular degeneration including therapies with longer durations of action, emerging therapies, and gene therapy.
  • Describe new clinical evidence on geographic atrophy.
  • Recognize new management practices for retinal disorders that occur in pediatric patients.
  • Examine case presentations related to the medical management of retinal disorders.
  • Summarize the latest evidence about the use of biosimilars and on-label formulations of bevacizumab for the treatment of retinal diseases.
  • Review controversies in retinal disease management, such as the use of step therapy, vitrectomy in diabetic retinopathy, AI-powered tools, and advanced imaging techniques.
  • Describe the use of various imaging modalities in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of specific retinal conditions.
  • Examine the latest evidence on the management of uveitis, including evaluation, treatment advancements, and surgical interventions.
