Target Audience

This program is designed for pediatricians, pediatric nurses and nurse practitioners.

Learning Objectives: General Sessions

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:

  • Identify cutaneous eruptions that are markers of common and less common systemic illnesses.
  • Review current updates in vaccines, vaccine-preventable diseases, and vaccine-related controversies affecting pediatric infectious disease practice.
  • Improve diagnostic skills by participating in infectious disease case presentations.
  • Review evidence-based literature about pediatric infectious diseases published over the past year.
  • Evaluate cutting-edge practices in pediatric infectious diseases including resistant gram-negative infections, prolonged fever, meningitis, and infections in patients receiving biologic therapies.
  • Detail problematic issues that may appear in the outpatient setting, including the return of vaccine-preventable diseases, challenges in marginalized communities, and emerging infectious disease trends.
